How My Boudoir Session Helped Me Reclaim My Confidence and Embrace My Body
For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with body image. As a teenager, I battled anorexia and bulimia. Then, after the birth of my first child, I went from 140 lbs to nearly 250 lbs and found myself facing a whole new set of insecurities. I spent years hating my body—and even more years trying to love it again.
Just when I thought I was making progress, I had my second child seven years ago, and some of that confidence started to fade again. It’s been a journey. Some days are harder than others, but one thing I’ve learned is how important it is to celebrate yourself—to have those little reminders that you are beautiful, sexy, and worthy of love. And for me, one of those reminders came through a boudoir photo shoot.

Why I Chose to Do a Boudoir Session
I honestly never considered doing a boudoir shoot until a friend invited me to the Nice Boudie Facebook group. I started browsing their website, reading testimonials, and scrolling through their posts on Facebook and Instagram—and I was blown away. The photos were stunning, and what really stood out to me was the diversity. It wasn’t just thin models or filtered perfection. It was real women—of every shape, size, and age—absolutely owning it.
That’s what made me feel comfortable enough to consider stripping down and being vulnerable in front of strangers.
I did my research and checked out other boudoir photography studios in the area, but nothing compared. The photos from other studios looked dated—like 80s glamour shots—and many of them weren’t even of real clients. Meanwhile, Nice Boudie proudly showcased a variety of real women and their transformations, and that transparency made all the difference for me.

Why I Chose Nice Boudie
There are so many reasons I chose Nice Boudie for my session, and I’d choose them again in a heartbeat. The package options are amazing, with lots of add-ons and different backdrop choices. They even offer outdoor mini shoots on occasion, which I think is such a fun idea!
And let’s talk about payment options—because that’s huge. You don’t have to pay everything upfront. They truly work with you to make it accessible, and I appreciated that more than I can say.

The Experience
From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was in good hands. The makeup artist makes you feel relaxed right away with friendly conversation during hair and makeup. Jamee is an absolute pro when it comes to posing and directing you to get the perfect shot. She isn’t shy about jumping in with jokes or silly moments to get your real smile to shine through. She is also incredibly patient (especially with indecisive people like me!) and so talented when it comes to album layout, photo selection, and editing.
They made me look and feel hotter than I ever imagined possible.
After the shoot, I felt amazing. People complimented me on my hair and makeup everywhere I went, and let’s just say—I took a lot of selfies that day.

More Comfortable Than I Expected
I was honestly shocked at how comfortable I felt throughout the session. I struggle with anxiety and panic, so I was nervous going in. But the environment they created was warm, welcoming, and safe—something that matters so much when you’re at your most vulnerable. Nice Boudie absolutely knocked it out of the park.

The Impact
Since my boudoir shoot, I’ve felt more like me again—confident, outgoing, and proud of the body I have. It gave me the push I needed to reconnect with that part of myself that I thought I’d lost. It was empowering, liberating, and honestly… fun!
I’ve recommended Nice Boudie to so many friends because the quality of their work, their service, and the overall experience is unmatched.

My Favorite Part? The Album.
While I loved everything about the experience, the finished album is hands-down my favorite part. Anytime I need a little confidence boost, I pull it out and remember exactly how badass and sexy I am. It’s a powerful reminder of what self-love looks like.
If You’re On the Fence…
If you’re nervous or unsure, take this as your sign: Do it. You’ll thank yourself later. Once you see your photos, you’re going to want more. I went from a 15 image album to over 35 image album because I just couldn’t narrow it down—they were all that good!
Pro Tips Before Your Shoot:
- Stretch for a few days before your session (especially those toes and calves—trust me).
- Hydrate!
- Most importantly, relax and enjoy the moment. You’re going to love every second.
This experience was more than just a photoshoot—it was a turning point. If you’re looking for a confidence boost, a way to reconnect with yourself, or just a reminder of how beautiful you really are, boudoir photography with Nice Boudie is the way to go.
